$2.88 A GALLON GAS !

My wife told me to take her out somewhere expensive, so I took her to the gas station.

 

The company that owns The Dodge Stores throughout the Southern U.S. got into major trouble with the State of Florida last month over price gouging during Hurricane Ike. They jacked the price of regular up over a buck to almost $5.00 a gallon in a matter of hours even though Florida really wasn't going to be hit. They had more gouging complaints to the state hotline for Dodge Stores than all the others put together. The general opinion is that they are now selling gas at cost to try to convince Tallahassee not to levy a massive fine on them. Unfortunately they are now causing traffic problems and accidents as everyone lines up to get the "cheap gas." News reports of people waiting 30 to 40 minutes in gas lines for the cheaper gas are common. I figure that their selling gas at cost will last just until the State decides whether they are going to prosecute or not.

 

In southern Delaware it's down to $2.95. Just over the line in Maryland it's running about 10 cents higher. Of course when one gets closer to DC or Baltimore the gas prices rise.

 

In my town it's 3.11
Through Nashua, the closest city it's 3.24 - 3.29
but just the other side of Nashua, I found some for $3.05

 

We have $2.68 here just outside Houston.

 

Just went for a 60 mile ride and in Edgar Springs, it's $2.79.

Oh if anyone hasn't read this, they should. Fossil Fuel Theory is B.S.

 

3.70 here in Raleigh NC. I'm hoping it will come down soon

 

Looks like the lowest price in the nation is in Enid, OK.
$2.46 a gallon.
Here it is $3.25.

$2.61 here, Columbus Ohio. That's cheapest in town, most places it's mid $2.70's

I read it. Calcium Carbonate breaks down at 850 * C liberating CO2. Iron Oxide would liberate Oxygen. All we need is a whole bunch of Hydrogen, and then we need to keep the Hydrogen from combining with the Oxygen, which should be more reactive than Carbon. It doesn't work.
Meanwhile, we know that Coal IS a fossil fuel because of the leaf imprints in the coal. And they did nothing to disprove oil as fossil fuel.
What was BS ???

 

Essentially what i got out of it is that we will not run out of oil anytime soon and that we need better ways to drill deeper to get to the stuff that is unreachable. There was a time when through central Illinois the oil fields there were dried up. I can't remember where exactly but there is a Mobil refinery in the area. Not so long ago, they checked the deposit pockets where the pumps were stationed and they were all full again. Dried up about 15-20 years ago, now full. Needless to say, they are pumping again.

I am just like most consumers, fed up at what a killing the oil industry is making on profits and how their prices dictate the global economy pretty much. Articles like this one make people think about the "science" of what is the very real truth and the fabricated "stories" that scare people into thinking they need to drive a hybrid.

A recent History channel documentary really pissed me off about how the government is wasting our money trying to find an alternative source for fuel. It angered me because they convey the idea that we will run out of oil, which is not the case at all.
Just my thoughts.

 

My old neighbour was running natural gas in his 340 Duster for years.
He was a mechanical genius and designed lots of special parts.
It cost him next to nothing to run, and it was really fast. Other than the large fuel tank it seems like a good idea.

 

While buying oil for all my spring oil changes it occurred to me. . .
Motor oil is STILL at last year's high prices, when crude was trading for $145 a barrel. Motor oil went up along with gasoline. Cheap 99 cent oil is $2.20 or so. (I don't use cheap oil). Good name brand conventional is all around $4.00 a quart !! UNFAIR !!

And here's the kicker- - Synthetic is engineered from natural gas which did not have the same price spike as crude oil, yet Synthetic oil ALSO went up in price, and has stayed up. Do we have a free market system anymore? Oh well, it's Rotella T by the gallon then.

 

The new push for carbon taxes and the Obama/Pelosi/Biden triple threat will ensure high gas and energy prices for years to come no matter what a barrel of oil costs.
