I'm still learning. Thanks Mi. Yamaha clocked the 650 in a 1/4mile at 107 in 16seconds and gave it a 120 top speed. That 1100, I'm sure, can touch a bill pretty dog gone quick.

I think that 1100 Honda could be classified as a Sport-Tourer.

Big displacement Bikes are better for distance riding because you can get the Bike to cruise at Speeding Ticket velocities without needing to keep the Plant revved-up where noise and vibrations become factors contributing to riding fatigue.

    The new CB1100:

I'd still rather have 2 mufflers; but the manufacturers aren't blind and they see the popularity of aftermarket 4-1 systems and figure that's what we all want.

    ----

Why is the 4-1 so popular?? I too rather the look of a balanced 4-2 over a 4-1

A 4 into 1 ... saves the Manufacturer money on every unit built.
    One Silencer rather than two!
    Keeps the cost down.

And, as already mentioned ... is thought to be a Performance mod.

went to the honda dealer here in town today, they had one of these pups sitting right in front of you when you want in the door, holy macrol it looks awesome, only thing i dont like was the amount of plastic on it, especially the fuel injection setup. Gonna be a PITA to restore 30 years down the road.....

I like the 4 into 2 on my Max, but I really liked the 4 pipes and 4 mufflers on my old CB750 with spokes.
