This new fuse box works great as long as you don't try to hook up the power leads for the indicator LED's on it. It'll blow all the fuses. And it seems to only work when wired backwards. Oh well, it's up and running.

Welp.... looks like I'll be replacing that POS fuse box, for some strange reason has a parasitic draw and is draining the battery.

I'll have to go back to the old school glass fuses.

    ...makes me miss kick starters...

So you'll need to explain how a fuse box - sorry, POS fuse box, is capable of creating its own current drain?

Is that an actual fuse panel or a new style that uses circuit breakers and works electronically instead of fuses? As @minimuttly questioned how would a fuse panel cause a parasitic draw? The simple, replacement blade fuse type panels work wonderfully.

Cool looking device. The only current draw SHOULD be for the LED's.

Yeah, "should" be... ah, it was worth a shot. I already ordered a replacement OEM style box, it'll be here next week.

I replaced that POS fuse box with a new OEM style box. However, it doesn't seem to be charging. That other box either toasted my battery or the voltage regulator...

I had to use a jump box to get it started, did laps for about 20 minutes, but the battery didn't charge.

I've replaced the "new and improved" electronic blade style fuse box with an OEM style glass fuse box and discovered the electronic box fried my new AGM battery. So I have replaced that with a new gel battery, and it all works now.

...what a headache. Now I just have to source (for spares) the glass fuses. No one seems to stock these particular fuses, I believe they're a "type II"...? All the glass fuses that everyone stocks are either too long, or too short.

However, the good news is, I've finally finished it all just in time to winterize the bike and put it away until May of 2025 when we defrost from our frozen tundra.

I tested out the chin bar mount for my camera.

It gives a better (higher) view and smoother video over my chest mount, but because I wear a modular helmet (HJC C91) the strap interferes with the button to raise the chin bar.

So, chin bar vs chest mount... eh, six of one, half a dozen of the other.

The first half of the video was Friday evening, 70°, sunny, perfect riding weather. The second half was the following morning, 38°, foggy, wet, frosty... I couldn't see squat.

Last night's ride home from work.

I tried a half helmet... how on earth can anyone think these are a good idea?

The wind grabbed it and buffeted it all around, and the wind noise was deafening. At highway speeds you couldn't even hear yourself scream, let alone hear the bike.

I'll be sticking with my full face / modular helmet. It slips through the air and is quiet.

At least the weather forecasters said it's not going to stick to the roads, just the grassy areas. o_O
