Found an 83 550 maxim for a hundred bucks, most body peices missing but they don't fit anyway. As far as mechanical parts are there any differences? What other than the mechanical parts would work?

    Would it be worth it?

Mechanically, here's what's different (short list:)

-FRAME, tank, seat, sidecovers but you know that.
    -Instrument cluster.
    -LOWER front fork tubes.
    -Front fender.
    -Brake caliper.
    -Rear fender, tail light.
    -Headlight mount.
-Rear brake drum, backing plate, etc., the whole thing is bigger than the Seca's.
    -Chainguard.
    -Wheels.
    -Airbox.
    -Cams.
-Carbs (jet needle and pilot jet.)
    -Wiring harness.
    -Mufflers.
    -Clutch cable.

Like I said, that's the "short" list of DIFFERENCES. It might have been easier to list what's the same.
