750 Seca models use a 30A main fuse, and 10A fuses for the additional circuits, as well as that 5A fuse for what I believe is the computer monitor system, not the headlight....(?).

Hard starting when wet/damp can be caused by bad/weak ignition coils, pick-up coils, or TCI box.

Cold cylinders mean no spark or no fuel to that/those cylinders.....could be the same problem cause as the "wet statring issue" above or something completely different......testing and troubleshooting one step at a time is the key.

Fuses heating up is not a good thing, could be an alternator that is overcharging th system. You will want to review and print out the FAQ information contained here:

Yes, there's a lot of info there. Yes, the solutions seem like a pain in the output rectifier. And yes, basically everything you read there is 100% accurate.

well good news is that the coils are fine, im gonna look to the TCI box next. that is where the coil gets its signal right? I mounted a buddies good coil from his bike and i still have nothing in the 1 and 4 cylinder. I was told about a trigger wire in the crank but...i will go with your words of wisdom. Im about ready to jump for joy ..i can feel it.

Well, there's really not a lot to "look at" in regards to the TCI box---it's sealed, and for all practical purposes, non-servicable. In fact, the factory service manual basically says "test all the other components in the ignition system first, and if all them check out okay, replace the TCI." There are no "tests" you can do on the TCI besides replacing it with a known good one, and if that cures the problem(s), then you know the TCI is at fault..........

You might want to look at the pick-up coils (behind the small YICS cover on the left side of the engine) and test them. There's two coils, one for the #1/4 cylinder and the other for the #2/3 cylinder. Just as the IGNITION coils get their signal from the TCI, the TCI gets it's signal from these pick-up coils. You can do a quick resistance test on them (should be 650 ohms +/- 20%), and also check for broken/frayed wire leads.

Hello there, I'm a new member. Its been quite sometime looking for help for my Maxim 700. I watched eflat7's Maxim 650 Chopper at youtube and it was really over top nice. I was wondering if I can do the same with my maxim700.? Where can I get a frame or how do I modify the original frame? Can you give me tips or specifications on how to do this

Dodgie10, let me welcome you and, without making you feel bad, suggest that you start your own thread with your question as it is not good netiquette to "threadjack" someone else's thread. That and resurrecting old threads is frowned upon unless you are adding something of value to them.
That said, you might try to PM the parties who are currently (and formerly) chopping their rides. Browse the XJ Mod forum for nuggets, lots of neat stuff going on there.
