I took off my tach on my 81 seca to make it into a stripped down cafe bike.

Anyway I was wondering if there are any companys out there that make a screw on plug that will stop oil from spitting out the tach port on the front of the motor?

I know they make these for sohc honda's (usually pretty cheap) just couldn't find anything on google about seca tach plugs..

If not looks like a fun machining job... :(

    any help would be appreciated!

Did the tach line screw into the head or onto a threaded spigot?

Can I just chime in here, at the risk of being called a "stock Nazi?" (I'm used to it.)

This is a 550 Seca. Ten pounds of fun in a five pound sack-- above 6 Grand. More specifically, from 6K to TEN Grand, the redline AND the peak HP. If you do away with the tach, how are you gonna know the difference between 10K and blowed up? Wait for the valves to float around 13K? Or are you going to ride it "by the seat of your pants" and end up leaving 2000 RPM's worth of fun on the table?

If anything, I'd keep the tach and lose the speedo. Or go electronic, and lose the cable.

    Just sayin'...
