'82 Seca 750 Refresh Project: Now Scooby's Bike

    Do you have a volt meter, if you do unplug the headlight, jumper the plug where relay is located ,turn on ignition . At the headlight plug check with the volt meter and see if you have voltage . Switch the high beam switch on and see if you hsve 12volts . For giggles set volt meter to continuity and test head light posts .

    Thanks for the advice, i do have a multimeter

    which headlight plug socket is for positive and which is for negative?

    I'm a tad spooked I might short something

    No ,you will be fine , one wire is black ,one is yellow red , and one is brown or green black is ground and put your positive lead on the yellow red , using a paper clip jumper at the yellow relay . Turn ignition to on and see if you have 12volts , if not flip high beam on and move lead to the other lead on the plug see if you have 12volts.
