After cleaning and fine tuning the carbs I would like to install air pods to remove the massive air intake box. As well as make future carb removal easier. Currently the pilot jet is a #40 and main jet is a #112 (I believe these are slightly larger than the stock jets). Has anyone rejetted this bike for air pods? I m just trying to save time and money by not buying 10 different size jets. Did you replace the jet needle? if so please provide part numbers. Any input is greatly appreciated.

your carbs are designed to run with that airbox.
It is more than just jetting changes required.
Eliminating the air box changes the pressures at the inlet and this is most evident at 5,000 rpm.
Usually you can run ok without the airbox to 5,000 then the slides no longer cooperate.
The air box does provide some restriction and this is by design to help lift the slides.
Think of this as a vacuum power assist for the throttle slides.
This can be overcome with softer springs and drilling the hole to the diaphragm chamber but even then it won't provide the same positive connection to your twist grip.
Many go blue in the face mistaking the stumble at 5000 rpm with jetting issues.
You can save yourself a mess of trouble by keeping the airbox.
