AFTER you change that oil, right?

If you're pointing downhill, you can use the starter to get the bike going while in 1st (or 2nd) gear, then ride around for a moment to get things warm and then try the full throttle/clutch held in trick (might take a few tries to break them loose).

Well I spent a good 2 hours trying to take the cover off to visually check the internals but I can't get the daggum thing off where the metal coolant line was. I took all the bolts out but it's like the cover is stuck. The picture is where I'm having trouble.

Do you have a manual for your X? I know that some of my water and oil connectors needed a lot of influence to get them off. I also used penetrating oil PB blaster and what ever I had around to get them off. Just take your time and if needed walk away and come back to her.

Do you have any other angles you could show us? Might be missing something underneath?

Tim, I do not have a manual for the bike and - in tandem with what moe said - I walked away when I posted the pic and went to a local hookah bar with a couple coworkers for the first time lol. I can post more angles in a couple days when I'm off work but I'll definitely see what you guys say.

I have worked on cars/trucks so I know when something isn't right and when to let it go for a while so I didn't go all out and muscle the cover off. I can feel something is still connected somewhere but I can't see what's going on; I'll check Moe's link Thursday and see if I can find something out. For tonight she's spending her time closed up in a trailer.
