86 XJ700 MAXIM Clutch NEED HELP

    I just finished rebuilding my carbs, and also bought some pods which I was going to see how my bike would do using them. Before mounting my carbs I attempted to remove the air box which began to become a hassle. In the process I disconnected the clutch cable from the motor side. After giving up on the air box since I was skeptical about the pods working anyways I remounted everything and put the carbs on. Started it up and it runs fine but now when the clutch is engaged I get a loud ticking noise from the clutch where it connects to the motor. I don't know much about the clutch system yet.. Any Ideas???
