A little help please

    the tail light on my 85 maxim X700 has stopped working brake lights still work and a quick look shows both bulbs all ok HELP

    It could be as simple as a burned-out filament; just because it looks okay doesn't mean it is. ("Occam's Razor", doncha know.) Perhaps later I can go out and look at mine to see how it can be determined with a multimeter if it's the filament or the electrical system.

    bulbs ok check fuses ok it seem to be ig switch it was a little lose managed to wedge for tomorrow but how is it held in what needs to come off to chek mountings

    Mrmph. Good question -- I don't know.

    You might want to consider hopping over to this site and send mail to the webmaster. If he doesn't know, I'm sure he can find somebody who can.

    I remember having the same thing happen to my last bike, a Kawasaki KZ750 CSR. I ended up wiggling the key in the ignition, and it lit back up. The bike before that (Hondamatic 450), the headlight failed and I ended up replacing the ignition switch itself.
