A little info please

    I found a 81 550 seca, 33k, clean, bikini fairing.

    Does this bike have any issues I should know about, or look for when I go look at it. It will be a 6 hour round trip and I dont have time to study.

    Any help is appreciated.

    The engines are very solid. Fitz is our resident 550 expert and I'll let him comment there but some general advice.

    Do a compression check - easy to do and vital information. If it's rideable run it up and down the gears. Check the chain and rear sprocket for wear, at 33k I would suspect it should have been changed by now.

    If it is not running check that throttle at least moves smoothly. Remover the left side cover and the plugs and turn the motor by hand.

    Other than that I look at general condition and hte kind of care the owner takes of it. Good luck.
