    Hello.

There's air in the brake line of my 1982 Yamaha Xj 650 Maxim and the front brake is completely unresponsive. I can't bleed my brakes the traditional way because the bleeder screw is shut. I've tried penetrating oil, heat, vise grips – the screw will not get loosened at all.

Is there some way to get the air out of my brake line without loosing the bleeder screw?

    Thank you!

Nope you have to get it out you may need to drill it with a #21 drill bit and use a easy out . Or buy a used caliper off of eBay

That the bleeder screw is stuck is an indication that the caliper needs to be rebuilt (along with the master cylinder and new brake lines).
Do not apply heat to the caliper without tearing it down first.

i had a socket for bleeder screws once it looked like a chrome lug nut you put a wrench on it to turn it and then hit the top with a hammer to break it free worked great

I think he was more concerned about building pressure in a closed system, Kaboom!
