Airbox from XJ750 On XJ700?

    I am in the process of restoring an XJ700 (air cooled) and I need an airbox for it. I have looked online and I cannot find the air box anywhere. However, I can find the airbox for a XJ750. I noticed that they both used the same carbs (hitachi 33). Would the airbox from the 750 fit on the 700? Any other advice would be appreciated.

    Yes, apparently the XJ750RL used HSC33 carbs, same/similar to the XJ700 airheads. However, I think the airboxes would be wildly different - the 85/86 XJ700 Maxim frames are pretty different.

    So I guess you could try, but I wouldn't make a big bet on it.

    I might have a line on an XJ700 airhead airbox. I will send you a direct message.
