Hasn't run in 4 years and won't run until the plug wire (or coil) is replaced. But, it's the unmatched side covers that has me walking away.

 

Yeah..... that's a bear of a job to replace---let's see:
1. Disconnect clip
2. remove both mounting bolts
3. remove coil and install a new one
4. Put things back in reverse order, step 2-1

 

I kinda dig it really. Too big of a job for me tho too

Yup! Also stuck em on my bike frame with a clothespin so they'd hit the spokes and make motorcycle sounds!

 

I do that with my motorcycles.....makes my 700 sound like a Harley, since there's only 5 spokes.

I wove them into the spokes so they'd hit the frame.

Looks good and apparently it is still stock. Don’t know about the price. My XJ700N had 10,000 miles on it and looked just as good, but I still had to put a lot of time and money in it to bring it up to standards. I was just lucky that mine was stock because I sure didn’t know what I was getting into.

 

I just had a whole discussion with my dad. I can’t get him to understand that “it ran when I parked it” means nothing if that was 5 to 20 years ago.

I agree with "Frankenbike". It is sort of cool it you think about it being built from parts lying around the shop. Some things that look like they could have been better thought out, like the ignition key hanging where the drive chain can snatch it away but other things nicely done. Still not something I desire or would pay real money for. I wonder if, how it is titled?

 

Maybe they glued half of each title together! Hah!

It's not the worst thing I've seen, but in my mind that the only bike a Triumph should ever be married up to is a Norton. (Oh wait.. even they didn't exactly do that)
