The mufflers look like original equipment..... The rectangular plate on it does look like it MAY be a Kerker nameplate, but Yamaha also had some of those plates on their mufflers, too. I have some like that, so can verify that fact.

They fit WAY too nice not to be stock. Something about the cut at the tip of the can and the plate you mentioned are what's throwing me off.
Perhaps I'm crazy. (and here come the comments!)

If I could find that bike around here for $1800 - $2k I would seriously consider it (forgiveness over permission for sure!). I have yet to see one for sale nor even see one. Really funny how all these posts are coming up lately about people picking up their first bike and it's a dang 650 Seca!!

Yeah......he was all Gung-ho to come to a carb clinic then LIFE got in the way.

I've seen the 650rj somewhere.....I recognized the seat instantly. Maybe he bought the seat as a replacement, or maybe he was the one selling the seat.......hmmm

Any 650 Secas in decent condition, with sparkly carbs, proper valve gaps, ready to roll? Color not important! Free delivery, please! Oh yeah, I prefer metric speedo too!

Blew an oil seal on the bottom end... at least that's the cheap and easy option. Otherwise, it's a cracked case. At the garage for diagnosis and repair. Puked it's guts out all over the parking lot at work. Hopefully it's done by Thursday so I can get it home before my surgery. Riding season is pretty much done, looking forward to snow melt already...
Anyhow, the Rebel is a place holder until the right xj comes my way, and the timing is right. If there's a Hoggfiddles approved 650 Seca, I'm trading up in a second!

    And

    the dented tank
    Flat-black spray-bomb over the gold
    The not-correct tank emblems
    the wrong exhaust
    The wrong turn signal
    The broken clutch safety switch

I could probably go on, but don't want to damage my eyes any more than that.....

Funny, he covers the bike license plate, but all the cars' license plates are in the pictures--- lol

Definitely $200 worth of parts there... I mean, you can sell the rims, carbs, airbox, one side cover (guess which one), the seat looks pretty intact, etc. Sounds like a frustrated dad just wants garage space back.
"he never tried fixing it or even charging the battery to start it."

Putting up that ad must've felt great, but she's going about revenge all wrong. If he cared about the bikes, he wouldn't have left them behind. Gotta hit him where it hurts. She should post contact info and pictures of the s***ty bartender so we can all go for a "test run".

PS dear Mr SnoSherriff, never let my wife on your website. My mouth is bigger than my brain. Plus, I keep my title with the bike.

OBVIOUSLY not an xjbikes member... No xjs left behind! Also, I hope we all treat our people better than our bikes.

Several years ago, my wife actually encouraged me to spend a bit of money to get my one owner XJ550 back up to good running order. Then again, I was looking at new bikes...:)

My strategy worked....$1200 for parts or $8,000+ for new....

My wife arranged to have my bike brought home the next day after I hit a moose and I was life flighted to hospital. less than 12 hours bike was home and covered in the garage with its blanket. I had to wait 21 days to go home.
So everyone go thank your understanding wives/girlfriends. What would we do without them?

I have told her on many occasions that I do not have a house, I have a cage for a lady. If I could get action in a cardboard box, that's where I'd be. Isn't she lucky? Sympathy donations can be sent to Ms. Thundrrr care of Matti!

A cot in the garage and a bunch of bikes - no problem.
I actually have backed off on my drinking...
    Don't shave that often.
Shower? same shirt? - it it don't stink WTH? o_O

Eventually she looks at me and says you "look" like you need a shower not you "smell" like you need a shower... and then I say "Yes Dear".

Mine flipped out the first time she saw my xj650-----of course, I had it two years fore she saw it........then it stayed hidden the for another year, but then one day she said...."if your'e ever gonna ride that bike, get a pair of chaps. They look cool". Out it came. Then about three months later she said, "I just bought a friend's used jacket to wear so I can ride with you".........golden.

Now she just has no concept of how many bikes I REALLY have.....she only sees three or four of them.
