    i recently put a add on craigslist.com and said i was looking for an older yamaha seca/maxim engine or bike. and what do you know somebody emailed me and told me his buddy had one that he had no time for and said 200 dollars would take it. picking it up saturday morning. i know he couldnt get it running cause of the cdi box and i was wondering if the seca and maxim cdi boxes are the same. i will know more about the bike when i get it saturday and tell you all how it turns out to be...

    They are not the same but can be used between the models. The timing advance curve is different between the two but either one will get a bike running for testing purposes.
