    yea, i realized that when i took the filter off the first time, not too much oil in there. so tomorrow hopefully i'll have time to be able to switch that around, change out the plugs, throw gas in it and give it a jump to see if it starts!

    You all are forgetting the washer that backs up the spring against the filter grommet. Most folks pitch this unknowingly when they change their oil (just like I did).

    (That's because a large percentage of XJs came to their current owner missing said washer...) Both of my 550s were missing it when I got them, and I don't expect to find one in the 650 either.

    Mine actually survived all these years with the washer. I should stop forgetting to put that in the posts. Guess I forget it because not everyone still has the washer

    However, I didn't forget to put the washer on the first time I changed the oil....I forgot the damn spring!
