Man this looks just like mine. I was wondering about the seat as well. I am trying to figuer out what to do about it. I also need to mount my plate and lights.

If you could pm me with imformation on the seat I would REALLY apreciate it.

I cut down the stock seat and foam and took it to the upholstery shop.I mounted a small LED under the fender to light the plate.

oh nice, yeah I used the stock seat cut down too. But I made it a bit smaller/skinnier. I like the way you chopped it.

I LOVE THIS! This is exactly what i'm doing with mine right now...i was interested to see if the air filters would fit....

Did you just spray bomb the rear fender and slide it up a little? did you have to move the battery?

    Thanks!

yeah I temp. spray painted the rear fender and its just welded to the upper crossmember temp. as well. I need to make my bracket to hold it in place still. And yeah the battery is in the stock location still. I still need to cut down the inner fender and put it in too. keep the sand and water off the motor, filter and chain.

This is mine. I am reworking the tank this is some sporster tank the po put on the bike. I just rebuilt the carbs an threw them on. It is running nice now. I am in need of mounting the plate an tail light. But yea it should be alright when I am done. I just dont have the time to make it nice, so it is going to be a rough bike. I am also working on a couple othere things to do to it witch will Make it stand out.

My fender is a trailer fender from Tractor Supply.I powder coated it flat black. Not too expensive I think it was 30bux or so.

Yea that is what I am into. I am actualy sick of flat black though. So I am going to try to mount two ammo boxes on the sides of it like saddle bags, and then paint the whole bike flat green, throw some spiked studs on the tank an fender. I want the spiked studds to be in the center all lined up like a race stripe.

Well if every thing works out.

yeah that sounds sweet. I do like the army look. I've got another 550 I'm picking up for a project and I think I'm going to try a new style too.

I have seen the ammo boxes used before as saddle bags. I am looking for a specific box that seems to be hard to find at the moment. I have seen two on ebay and since I have seen them I have yet to see any more.

Are those studs on a strip of leather?

I went to a freinds house to check his collection of studds. He had just given all of his spikes away. I really don't feel like paying for spiked studds.

That is a crazy back tire. Nice bike! I am looking for a way to mount my tail light an plate, but they passed a law here last year that we arent allowed to have our tags mounted on the side of the bike, on its side. The law says it has to be centered on the bike and has to be above 24" or some thing like that. Your exhuast is sick to.

Little update. I cleaned my carbs and replaced some bad o-rings and gaskets and the carbs perform great now. No leaking gas or not getting it to idle, also fixed my petcock diaphram. I still have some hanging rev issues but I'm still trying to figure that out, makes my brain hurt. But I ride it around my house here and there and it rides awesome besides having to brake the bike with the trans because of the hanging revs sometimes. So as soon as I fix that I'm golden.

Here are a few pics from today and of my tank after flap-discing it and clearing it for now. Maybe will fill the badge holes and paint it in the future but for now I like rocking this.

yeah its been a really fun project. I also never figured this bike would be as fast as it is. Today It actually caught me off guard when I was taking off on a turn from a stop to catch up to a buddy and it spun the tire and drifted a bit around the corner. it scared me for only a second, and then I was all smiles! lol
