I read all the information I can find on this site (and others). I have a "Mity-Vac". Rebuilt M/C, Rebuilt caliper and new SS hoses. When doing the caliper I was able to remove the piston with compressed air. I polished it to a mirror finish. I ran a cylinder hone into the bore of the caliper. Do you think I should push the fluid up from the bleeder screw or let gravity help and go from the master cylinder?

+1 The maxim 650 brake system is easy to bleed.

When I rebuilt my front brakes—everything new or rebuilt just as you did—I pumped the fluid through the bleeder valves (2 calipers on my XJ700) and was finished in about 15 minutes. With the system completely empty I just figured the reverse bleeding with the air being pushed up and out made more sense. But it might be different for your bike.
