I will say this, after I change the oil the bike smokes a lot. After I have driven it for a while, the smoke dies down and eventually disappears. I was thinking this was probably because I was burning through all of the oil. Like an idiot, I didn't check the side window to see how much oil I had lost.

I don't think you're burning through all the oil. When it stops smoking, are you saying there's nothing showing in the sight glass anymore?

    Also a note of caution:
If you put more than a tablespoon of oil / SeaFoam / other liquid in the cylinder, you should spin the motor with the plug out and a rag on top to prevent "hydrolock" and possible engine damage.

You can monitor even a few OZ of oil consumption by filling with oil until just the slightest bubble is in the window.

"HYDROLOCK!" sounds like something made up by Ad men to sell oil.

I am currently trying a couple of the things we discussed. Hopefully, I'll have some more info for you by Sunday.

    Alright. This is embarrassing.

I didn't drain the oil fully. That is why the bike was smoking. I was draining oil ONLY from where the filter attaches and the rear plug. NOT the main middle plug. I'm not sure why my brain just decided to fail me until the other evening when I was walking to work and I played what I had done to the bike so far back in my head. I literally stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and hit myself in the head.
When I got home, I changed the oil right, cleaned out the airbox, and everything seems to be running normally.

I am, however, still concerned about the compression numbers. I will run a new test within the next couple days and start a new thread to ask you about them.

Thank you all for your time. You have been extremely helpful. Please excuse my idiocy.

Put LockTite on the Rear Plug.

    Don't ever touch it again.
It's not supposed top be removed unless you are rebuilding the engine.
The Oil in that cavity changes itself.

Thats called the Middle Gear Drain.
    That Plug will fracture.
If is does ... you got more trouble than you bargained for.

    Rick,
Since you told me this earlier, I have put LockTite on the plug. It won't ever be touched again. Thanks.
