Remember, vacuum is dependant on rpm AND LOAD, the sure way to tell is to hook up a vac gauge to one of the intake manifold nipples and red it at different conditions. But you are right, not much fuel is needed at no load to make the same amount of (higher) rpms...........

If you did the dynojet kit, your hosed. Never, never trust a kit that has you drilling out any thing unless you are drag racing the bike.

These kit are crap and cause more problems then they cure. I've been there. Also, the main jets that come with the kit are not sized right. I measure every one and found them to be way oversized them they were marked and not consistant.

For example: The #124 jets should be .124 mm in diameter. I measure all of them on an optical comparitor, they measured between .126 - .127 each. Now try to match your carbs up with that kind of inconsistancy. Good luck.

Even if you changed you air cleaner to a K & N and have after market exhaust, rejetting is not needed if you set the carbs up right.

Oh, and hooking up a vacuum gauge is useless on a YICS engine unless you block off the passages. You a bubble flow meter instead if you do not have a block off tool.

I just had to do this on a 650 Maxim for a guy. And I blame Chacal, somehow word got out that I was good with Hitachi carbs? Now i got guys around my area asking to work on their bikes all the time. Thanks Len. I've done 7 bikes in the last 8 weeks. But what the hell always will to help a brother out. And the extra cash is nice too.

Hey Dodger, what are friend's for? :)

But I didn't tell anyone, I swear, that you are one of the world's finest XJ-Guru's when it comes to rebuilding and precision fine-tuning Hitachi carbs......wasn't me, no sir!

JGB---no, Dyna COILS are ignition coils, and the DynO-Jet kits are carb re-jetting kits......two distinctily different animals.

I gotta agree on the Dynojet kit. I never got it to work right on the 750, and ended up re-sealing and drilling the slides to spec, and putting all the stock jets and needles back on. I did bump the pilots one notch to 41's.

I'm glad I didn't pay for the kit though.. That was the PO :)
