Hey y'all, just took my carbs to church. Now I am attempting to set the fuel levels.

My question is this: when setting the fuel level, you have to fill the bowls up with fuel--but where is the overflow? I fill the bowls with fuel through the T on the fuel rail, and eventually fuel overflows out the fuel jet and into the carb body. Will it automatically fill to the correct level and then overflow like this, out the main body? Am I just overthinking this? ...Am I UNDERthinking this?

Feeling queasy thinking about actually getting these levels right.

the carb that is leaking is the first one to adjust.
on mikuni carbs the overflow is the brass Jets in the carb throat facing the back of the bike, same with most of the hatachi carbs.

it is easier if you set the levels before reassembling the rack.

Could this just mean that the float needles aren't functioning properly? Fuel overflows out of #1 and #2, not three and four. Guess I should recheck those...

yes the 2 fuel levels could be off or needles are not seating properly

...or the floats are stuck, or the seal (washer, o-ring, felt doughnut depending on model) for the needle seats has failed, or the wrong float needles were used at some point and they got cockeyed in their bores.
