    Hey guys,

What's everyones thoughts on the clamp on air filters?
Are these as simple as they look to swap in? As effective/ more so?
Been thinking of putting some on my bike, but I'd like to get some opinions first.

    Cheers - Lee

"PODS" have a love/hate relationship on this board.

Some have no problems installing them, others have to rejet once or twice, others have a nightmare getting bike to run right with PODS.

Do a few searchs and you'll SEE :)

I'm embarassed to say that until Metal Bob pointed that out, I had no idea that PODS were these clamp on air filters. After the enlightenment, I did lots of research, and I see what the issues are. Not sure if I want to take on more carb issues... I welcome anyone's opinions though!

This site is such a great resource!
    Thanks guys.

i had major pod issues w my xs 650, but am still going to try again with my 82 xj in a week or 2. Have you cut your pipes or done anything else with the bike? I am kinda in the strip down to nothing phase, but would be curious to see if we have similar results. I have 40k miles on mine. No front fender and no badges as of now. No reflectors, and am looking for nice small bullet stlye turn signals. Just trying to get rid of that airbox next too. Good luck.

Hey Benny/Kevin, thanks for the 2 cents!
There seems to be many with good results and many with bad, as far as the PODs go. I think I may leave the airbox for now as I have quite a few other things to do.
The great weather is going to be here and I want to be cruising! ;)

I've got end bar mirrors, exhaust tape and shocks on the way, and I just got my new headlamp bucket. After putting the shocks on I'm going to chop the backend. I've hammered out a seat pan which I'm going to apholster myself, the vids on youtube show everything.
The carb boots need to be updated, which I'm procrastinating on ordering from Len, for some reason!

Here's the link to my build, which is close to stock. I have chopped the back fender in half though and fashion a new brake light from the stock one. New LED's and re-apholstered seat.

Just reading through post. I like pods, I put some on a GN125 and had to adjust the fuel jet a full turn, but, all I can say is people can hear you coming.
Now with 4 on, the aliens will be hearing you all the way from outer space....
