Cleaning the YICS channel

    What lives in that chamber? Air / fuel mixture, every time you shut the bike off some gets trapped in there, then gets roasted, then condensed as the engine cools. Next time it runs some of the roasted gas gets blown out but not all of it.
    Repeat for 20K miles. Black Goo or carbon.

    Fitz, you have to remember that you are one of the few that have a perfectly tuned bike. The rest of us are still in training. :)

    Not worth worrying about? (At least that was my point.)

    Obviously, if you do have a gummy, sooty or otherwise blackened and nasty YICS channel, then by all means clean it. My point was that it shouldn't be frequently necessary.

    I only clean mine BEFORE I put the YICS blocking tool in when doing a tune up so it shouldn't need doing very often. And yes I do use the 12 gauge one its a tite fit but that's how you make sure it gets clean. Just like cleaning a shotgun.

    Umm, no I average around 5K ~ 8K miles a season.
