Hey, thought I'd start a thread for members to show off their tool, LOL.

Here's a feeler gauge my KTM dealer sold me when I bought the bike.
It's basically a go/no-go gauge, makes valve adjustments simple, threaded adjusters though.
I'm not sure how you'd make one for an XJ using a range of shims. Might need more than 2 blades, 3 maybe? And then one for the exhaust and another for the intake. Kind of defeats the idea I guess.
KTM recommend checking the valves every 15 hours.
I have about 120 hours over 15 years and I think this was #3 LOL.
An oil change on this bike is ridiculous. 2 disposable filters + 2 SS screens to clean, essentially 4 filters.
The Covid pandemic has sure given me more time for bike maintenance.
I've never had my stable in this shape.

What simple device do you have?

Clutch basket holder made from vice grip and dowel pins. Made for and used on son's Kawasaki Vulcan.

So, I've got big, arthritic hands and on fjr1300 I had a hard time getting a secure enough grip to adjust the headlights. So, I made myself a headlight knob wrench by molding JB Weld putty around the knob. Fits perfect.
