    Sure you don't have a bird stuck in there? This noise just start or after maint? Could be a few things I guess, just never heard a high pitch sound like that. Could even be the clutch basket rubbing on something. Have you checked the oil for specs of metal? Good luck.

    The whole engine was rebuilt last winter. Didn’t start squealing until recently- after several break in oil changes. When it was apart I did a basic inspection of the little radial roller bearing and it didn’t seem thundered, but who knows. Maybe some debris from break in messed it up. I think next step is to tear in, have a look around, maybe just replace the bearing and see what happens.
