Now, we’re back to just shoot the breeze.
Fuller56 has headed home, Nuch will be heading out to his hotel just down the road. The rest will camp out again, and it’s a perfect night to camp ️

And a good time was had by all. A nice, safe ride home on a pretty evening to ride with not too much traffic and only 1 deer sighted a long way from the road. Thanks, Dave, for hosting and thanks Will for the enlightenment to modern technology. I knew it was out there but not how close it is.

 

Sunday morning, time for coffee and chit-chat, solving all the rest of the world’s problems…….
Soon time to pack up the bike, and get home before rain moves in—- and then I’ll be tearing stuff down and pack stuff away til next June.

Home safely, but had rain from where I entered I-90 at Syracuse to Eastview Mall. We had one great night of stargazing and counting the myriad of satellites zipping along. Did we see 17?

We didn't see any starlink satellites, just loners. Was fun.

 

Here is the recap of our CNYCC#19

The weather was picture perfect! One member came in a couple days early to avoid some rain….and set up camp out on the lawn for the duration. In doing so, we took advantage of a moment on Friday and ran a couple hours south to catch the Union Pacific Big Boy as it rolled through.

For the Carb clinic itself, there were six members present. We had an extremely informative morning presentation on high-end 3-D scanning and printing from one of our new members. That, in itself, was worth the ‘price of admission’…… anyone who didn’t come REALLY missed out on that. After that, it was onto color-tuning, carburetor balancing, and the usual stuff like that. We also had other tasks completed:

-An oil change
-A windshield installed
-A corroded spark plug wire-end corrected
-Pull some needed parts of of bikes or out of the parts-stash for repairs or upgrades after people get home
-Plenty of food to eat (of course!)
-Lots of good discussion
-Ended the afternoon with a nice 30mi ride through the hills and views of central NY

Len Chacal and XJ4EVER graciously supplied three gift certificates for door prizes, NAPA supplied three cans of sea foam, and my insurance company supplied a big bag of goodies and trinkets for everyone. The last person out left around noon on Sunday, bringing CNYCC#19 to a close

Plan ahead for next year! CNYCC#20…. TWENTY, holy moly!!!!……will be Saturday, June 12, 2027. I’ll start a forum on that, shortly. This #19 forum will have the sticky removed in a several days and it will drift into the past forums.
