I have the ElectroSport 2800 digital gauge on order. The braided lines are not real, they're the slip over the existing cable type. My wife picked them up for me somewhere, and they don't look too awful. Pretty easy to install. Thanks Rick for the input on the headlights. I'm gonna hook 'er up and see if any problems arise, hopefully not. If so, I know I've got a team here with all the knowledge to get it right. Thanks for all the positive input, fellas, I'll keep the pics coming. And here's another pic with the pipes on and some of the side covers mounted back up.

Awesome, I like the pipe wrap. Is there a reason you went with white instead of black?

I like that speedo a lot. Could you do me a favor and take a front on shot so I can see it better. I looked everywhere I could think and only found that bad angle shot.

I'll prob get it sometime next year, however I don't know if it is big enough to see easily, its only 64mm across the face. Would you give me your opinion after you have it on your bike?

Yeh, I just like the way the white looks, and there's gonna be plenty of black. In fact a lot of that yellow will be covered up by the black tank. I havent recieved my speedo yet, I'm waiting patiently for the ups man. When it does come, I'll post up some shots.

Been working on the wiring harness, it's really not my favorite thing to do, so I do a little and move to something else for a while then go back to it. Other things like getting the tank prepped for painting and cleaning the garage up a bit. Today I made some struts and mounted them. Lowered the rear 3 inches from stock height, and the front 3/4 of an inch. We'll see how it rides after I remount the coil springs on the seat. The kickstand sets the bike near vertical with the bike that low, so I'll be strageticly parking for the most stable spot. Nothing was cut or welded, so I can always switch back to the stock shocks. We'll see how it goes. I'm still waiting for a front tire and carb boots to arrive. More pics in my updated gallery.

Wow I was in Jamaica and missed most of these updates. Well done. I like the yellow, which is surprising since it can look like ass on many things. I like it here though. Good job.

Mounted up headlights, new gauges, new carb boots, and put the carbs back on, new grips, mirrors. Decided to pick up a new/used harness, I found it less of a headache than repairing what the PO had "modified". After that, I'll be ready to ride! Oh, and finish up the tank, and do some paint touchup. And carb sync/colortune. So by my estimate we should have 18 inches of snow next week sometime.

    Kevin, awsome project!!
Just noticing the straight pipes..... yep they look great and probably sound that way too!
Did you change out jets or anything else on your carbs?
Sorry not trying to sound critical just curious.

Hey Kevin.. Mean bike... I like it, not sure I would have gone yellow.. But still looks mean...

Anyway I have a frame that's been chopped in exactly the same place as yours and i'm wondering if the rear gaurd is an original and how you fitted it?

    Cheers

the pipes were on it when I bought it. I put pods on, and have not yet changed the jetting. To be honest, the only thing I notice that would make me want to rejet is a very slight sluggishness off the line. Above 2500 or so RPM, it's like butter. I just got a Colortune, and once it's all back together I'm gonna sync and colortune and see if that helps, if not I'll rejet. Fro all I know the PO may have rejetted for the pipes. I rode maybe 5 miles on it before I put on the pods, so I don't know how it ran with the stock airbox. We'll see, I have a few months to get that all straightened out. And yes, the pipes sound GREAT!

Alive, it is the stock rear fender, rotated around and mounted to the frame with the existing mounting holes and 2 more for strength. It fit with no alterations to the fnder other than the 2 additional mounting holes.

I thought you might have done that... Looks good too.

Did you have to modify the frame to attach it? Drill holes or add bolts?

I did drill holes in the frame to mount it. Not really large enough to impact the structural integrety. I hope.

    Kevineleven,
I am doing the same as you are (750 Seca) and like your ideas too.
It really makes for shorter, cleaner looking scoot for sure. After getting rid of all that plastic on the back and tha god awful ugly square headlight/driving light, I replaced them with a round headlight (from a Suzuki I think) I can start to live with it now!
I've been riding mine to work for the past 5 years, and never did really like the seating position, so I decided to make forward controls, like my Shadow has and make 6" risers for my bars, which made it more "ridable" for me.
I'm still not done fabricating and hope to have it all buttoned up by spring. Chop what you got! >PD<

Well, I woke up to about 3 inches of snow today. I decided to work on the bike a bit, and before I know it, she's back in riding condition. I threw a bit of gas in her and with a minimal amount of choke, VVVVRRRRrrrrooooom!!! She fired right up and in 28 degree weather no less! The new carb boots must have done the trick, it was hard to get 'er going before without a bit of starting fluid. Cant wait to Colortune. Anyways, here's a picture. can't wait for the snow to melt. I have a bunch of little things i can work on till then.

Really NICE looking bike, I like the look.

Kind of a retro look, my kid says it's a down under look. Whatever that means!?

Hey Kevineleven. Looks great. Would you take a pic of the way you laid out your battery and electrical area? I'm going to pod mine before long and when I do I'm going to re-arrange mine. I'm not trying to copy you just currious as to what works. Are you running a 130 tire? I think I may have found a way to remove the houseing for the drive shaft and still seal the gearing from debri so that I can go for a wider tire like a 140 to 150 depending on the space it gives me.
