Currently going through a divorce, no time or money to do much more than survive. The end is near though, I'll be straightened out by spring. I hope.

Its a real pisser when you are half way through a project with a clear style and strong ideas then you flick on the internet and find some jumpstart has already built it. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and it looks as good as i thought it would. Now I need to have a rethink or we will end up with the same bike.

I really liked the rusty look. If I was to paint that bike I would try making it look rusty with gray and brown paints so you get that cool rust look yet it is still protected by paint. I think the distressed look is cool especially if it's done on purpose.

I just think your bike needs a more of a rat rod/ bobber paint job, instead of seafoam green.

P.S. Your exhaust is awesome, is there any sort of baffling in there?

what happened to stripping the back wheel to match the front? instead you painted them both. I have yet to see someone really strip down and polish up these xj wheels but I think it's a cool idea to try that.

They dont polish. The center area of the rim is textured, not like the outer polished lip. The paint was done on a whim, I like it and it's gonna do for this season. Not quite as green as I wanted, but I'm not terribly displeased with it. Next year it'll be another color.

My bad, I thought you were still making changes. The thing looks mean.
I'm getting ready to build my exhaust, what size battery do you run on that thing? I got one from WalMart and it barely fits in my ammo can. do you have any pics inside your can? i wanna see how you have it set up. Where is your fuse box?

I really like what you've done for the headlights!

    What lamps are those?
Could you post a night pic with them lights shining on a wall/down the road?

I am considering the same setup for my bike.

The lights are 55watt halogens, plenty bright but no hi/low function. Everything fits in the ammo can fine, the battery is snug-dont know what size. Here's a vid of how it sounds idleing and revving.
