Couple of questions

I think I may need to rejet my carbs for two reasons.

The exhaust is a 4 into 1 and have read in other posts that this will effect the carbs
Allso I have non standard air filters fitted which gives me a bit of concern.
So what size jets came as standard (1980 xj650 European model)



When I took these off there is no kind of filter medium inside and I do not know if that is right or not.

What is the trick to unclipping the chock cable? I am not shure if I m just being too gentiel with it.



Throttle cable also hard to get to.

While I am here thought I would post a pict of the fuse box.



Those are 13Amp domestic fuse in the lid as spares. New box required during rebuild. I think I might build the one described on the xjcd

 

If I were you I wouldn't be concerned about the jets at this point in time... Leave that until later.

I would replace the pod filters and fuse box and go hard on the cables because they are relatively cheap to replace

That ... right there ... IS ... why these Fuse Panels need to be yanked-out with extreme prejudice and sacrificed to the Gods of Volts and Amperes.

A shot of lubricant and some needle-nosed pliers will help get the cable turned-round to slip the bullet out from the catch.

Looks like your dance-card is filled-out for many moon's.

I wish you well with the project. I hope there isn't anything to complicate matters during the restoration.
