Another CL trick I love is when people post an ad that has a big block of text at the bottom that contains every imaginable make, model, and year of bike so that their post will show up for any search result. As if someone searching for a Triumph Bonneville is going to say, "Well, I was searching for a Triumph, but this 1985 Riva scooter that popped up is really interesting. I'll take it!"

We've got Kijiji up here. I bought my xs400 off there, and sold it on there too :) Both times were great experiences. I'm pretty sure that my buddy bought my seca from Kijiji as well.

This Seca I got was a real good find 4hrs away through the mountains. Or so I thought. From the pictures and all the questions I asked, I thought I was getting a good deal on a cafe racer Seca that was 85% what I already wanted. The guy even agreed to trade me two guns for it instead of cash.

I get there and I'm getting about a 50% bike that's worth MAYBE $500.... after the 4hrs of driving through mountain passes and such, my buddy and I decide to just take it and work with it. Kind of a dumb decision on my part and I traded one of my favorite guns. Pictures on CL don't do things justice. I won't drive that far again without knowing EXACTLY what I'm getting.

    Lesson learned.

but in the end, I still got a sweet Seca that I'm working on and I get to "forum hang" with all you yay-hoos. and that's alright.

as for everything else bought and sold on CL, I've had good experiences. sold all sorts of stuff with no real issues other than coordinating times to meet up that are convenient for both parties. I'll still look for another CL bike next winter, much to my girlfriends dismay. HEHE!!

Buying I have had lots of good luck. BMW cycle was what was described and great price. Bought at the end of the seasona dn the guy was willing to deal. Pedal bikes - for great price and great condition. Sold 82 suzuki 125 - first day on CL. Guy showed up with cash and had others calling as I was counting the money. However, was selling a conversion van and had strnge encounters. Lady wanting me to meet me 30 miles away. She wanted to meet me again later as I washed the van with detergent and I was wearing deorderant which she has allergies. Another guy called but didn't have enough money and was going thru a divorce. Called about later wanting to buy and would come up with money. Never showed.
