rgr that,, we are gonna rent a comp tester..gunna make sure,, but at least its not a blown piston, (phew), its gotta be valve spring or stuck valve,,but if its a valve stuck,,how would we get a proper reading anyways?

You won't. But then you'll have a better idea of what's going on.

Based on the results of the first test, you might want to follow up with a "wet" compression test.

You can actually SEE the valves thru the plug holes, if you look carefully.
That would rule out the dropped valve, and the holed piston.

But you could crank it - IGN off - by crossing the solenoid and HEAR the engine hit compression evenly, or - - 3 hits and a quicker spin.

But seriously, get a real compression gauge.

    But that's all we know.

I guess it depends on whether or not you're serious about figuring out what happened and what it might take to fix it. If you are then the first steps are dry and wet compression tests. Then you will probably need to pull the head. But if you just pull the head, you've missed the opportunity to get valuable information about the condition of the cylinders, including the good ones. Information that could prove to be very valuable in the upper-end rebuild decision making process. Figuring out exactly what broke will certainly influence the "repair vs. replace the motor" decision as well.

Polock, the way most tool "rentals" work around here, you get 100% of your deposit back when you return the tool, so it is essentially free of charge.
