View attachment 22764 Hi all. I finally got a chance to look at both bikes, even though I had already decided against the 750. The reason I changed my mind was the photos of the 650 made it look much better than it was in real life. It ran fine, but the handlebars sucked even when they adjusted them back for me. The overall condition is best described as worn out looking and rusty. I know thats a cosmetic thing, but for a grand i want it to look half decent at least. I opted to pass on that one due to the need for new bars and the old tires plus the above. The other bike was in much better shape exterior wise, but again the bars sucked, And i hate atari gauges. I would spend a lot to replace those. The bike had sat for decades indoors, been revived, then sat again for the past 3 years. Brake fluid bad, tires old, 800 bucks was still too much. So i passed on that too. Luckily i caught a ride down with a neighbor going that way so nothing but a bit of time invested on a beautiful day to take a ride. Just yesterday i found a nice looking 1983 XJ750 Maxim 750 with 19k for less than either of these, so i am going to take the drive to see it soon. It has the normal bars, nice gauges, and its my fav color...black!

Brought home the 83 Maxim yesterday, picked up an 81 Seca today. I paid $300 for each bike. Maxim 19k, Seca 12k.
