Do jets, needle/emulsion tubes wear out?

    Wondering if fuel passing through them wears on them like water on rocks in a fast flowing river.

    They don't wear out from fuel and air passing though, but the needles can wear the emulsion tube outlets into an oval over time.
    You do have to have quite a few miles on the machine for that to happen though, since the needles are held by a spring, are (mostly) self-centering, and will deflect if there is any misalignment between the needle and the emulsion tube bore.


    It's not water that wears the rocks in a river, but the combination of silt and grit that's carried by floods, and ice spreading cracks in the rocks over the winter.
