Day7a1's idea of tilting the bike to drain the middle gear oil worked.

I drained the 900, removed the filter, purged the pump, then re-installed the drain plug.
I then tilted the bike to the right, the left, then back to the right.
This was to drain the middle gear sump. - - I collected 7 OZ.

This would be the exact amount of the Middle gear sump.
Except- - how would I know that all this oil came from the middle gear??
And not from other places in the motor? I pulled the drain plug on this motor. I was going to do this anyway, and I do not suggest you try to do this.
    I got lucky- - again.
I found a further 3 OZ of oil in the middle gear sump.

So, if you want to drain an extra 11 OZ of oil more than the "regular" procedure, all you would have to do, is tip the bike to the right and spin the motor over without starting it.

What's that 11 OZ worth to you ??
