I'd like to pick up either EBC Double H or Extreme Pro (EPFA series) pads for my '82 XJ1100J...but I can't seem to find anyone with part numbers for my bike.
The EBC site is pretty crappy and very hard to get through...I can't find any kind of make and model listing on there other than possibly the catalog which took way took long to download (so I stopped).
Most of the retailers seemed to either bring to a simple part number for "front brakes" with no mention of brand or model.
Why does it seem to be so hard to find a variety of pads for these bikes?
    Any thoughts?
    Mike

Use the EBC site. You gotta tough it out and get the HUGE Excel spreadsheet or whatever format it's in I forget. Then use the "find" function, it's WAYY too big to scroll through.

It was the only reliable source I found for part numbers.

The Excel sheet worked, but unfortunately all they show is regular old organic pads and stock rotors...
I was looking for something that performs better.

Those are stock replacement rotors. They're still full floaters and along with their pads and stainless lines it's a GREAT improvement over stock. They definitely perform a lot better.

EBC only makes the organic pads for the XJ1100. Don't be afraid to use them, with a set of new EBC pads and stainless brake lines it will stop better than it ever has. I have done both of my 1100's with EBC pads and HELUSA.com brake lines, it was the best improvement I have ever made.
    EBC #s for XJ1100
    Front FA-70
    Rear FA-41

sometimes a local autoparts store can order EBC pads, I get mine from a autoparts store.

I searched through helusa's entire Yamaha section and did not see a kit for an '82 XJ1100J. Did you have it custom made by them?

They should have it mikeames, I sent them the old lines to duplicate and they were going to keep the measurements and post a kit for the XJ1100. Call them and ask. If they don't have the measurements then send the old ones. I only takes a week to send and get new lines back. I think the kit was 220$, including stainless banjo bolts and bleed nipples. Some people de-link the front and rear brakes, are you going to do that or keep it stock? I kept mine stock, it works great.
PM Chacal he also has brake lines for the XJ1100.
