viewing this thread gave me motivation to do the same thing, the bike looks great and I like this style of bikes more anyway. my motor is pulled and being rebuilt right now. its an 81 750 seca. I love the motivational pic on page one and thats what im shooting for. how hard was it fab the brackets to make it a rigid? is there any parts you ordered for this build?

The no fender look is as old school and primitive looking as one can get, which has it's place. Or you can always strap on a fender like mine!! PD

I kinda wanted to go with the tear drop tank, and the seat lower for a more old school rat rod look. I like the chrome turnbuckle set up to adjust ride height and have it a rigid. the pic with the front fender laid on the rear tire looks decent but it needs a lip on the end of the fender. I wanna go that route im having the turn buckles made tomorrow and I think im gonna start choppin tonight while the motors already out

    BakoMack,
To make the turn-buckles, all you need is the correct size tubing with nuts welded into the end. Then the adjuster that screws into the end of it is just a bolt with a bushing welded to the end of it. You will need the correct size bushing welded to the other end of the tubing also. Pretty simple if you have a welder. PD

I feel in love with that kawi pic but I think the drum brake in the rear is more of an old school style, I wanna see what I can do tonight I might start cutting the sub frame off and grinding welds down.

I love it!! I'm almost done with my bike. I haven't taken it to near the extreme you have. I like it. I must agree with the comment on the triangulation of the rear struts. Doesn't look safe, but it does look crazy! Love the tail light, I have the same one for my bike. Gotta love Ebay.

theres actually nothing wrong with the triangulation ive checked into several ways it can be done and im actually gonna do the same thing as him just with a smaller tank and the seat WAAAYYYY lower. my ass will be like 3 inches from the rear tire, I want the hunched over look when you sit on the bike
