I have need for a short length of frame tubing in order to repair a rusted section on my XJ. A 4" length of the lower frame rail would be ideal. I could make a peice of the rear subframe work should any of the bobber builders have the no-longer-needed back end of their machine sitting around. The hole I have is small and could be fixed with material that I have on hand, but I have a thing for keeping the bike all Yamaha (and using the same grade of steel makes the repair easier).

Ya know--!?!?!? It becomes even funnier When the conversation went like this:
"what are you saving THAT for?!?!?"
    "Because somebody might need it!"
"Yeah,.......riiiiigghhhttt, honey---- It's junk, throw it out!"

Tell me what section you need!! :)

Let's see, it's a specific size and grade, perhaps even tempered, alloy steel tube, of a uniform size and shape, jig-bent and welded to exact specifications, with all kinds of specially formed, die-stamped (5-ton? 10-ton presses?) specific and precise bracketry, also jig-aligned and welded into a precise placement.

Yep, that's the definition of junk alright, especially in a thriving market that needs replacement parts on a regular basis.

Me? I'd rather collect beanie babies and "rare" scented candles!

    Dave,

If shipping isn't too high I would be very happy with the entire section that is in the left of your picture. I really just need about 4 to 6" of the left lower frame tube if you want to keep the rest of it for some later use. Shipping would be to 67801.

    Len,

I have parts for garden tractors that haven't been made for 40 years, and that I haven't even owned one of in 7. Some day I will get to pass them on to a body in need.

    Thanks Dave.

Polock, If Dave's section won't work out for shipping I'd be interested in yours.

I'm more central than southwest. Our house is just 1,000 or so feet west of the eastern edge of The Great American Desert.

    k-moe. I have a spare 1982 xj650 maxim frame.

It is pretty clean, and already pretty much stripped down.

If you're interested, it comes with a clean title as well.

( Also, greyhound is a solid shipment method, and mostlikely would be the cheapest. )
