    When you haver the Brake Master Cylinder open ... it's a good idea to protect the tank with a layer or two of insurance against a spill.

    I drape a clean towel over the tank ...
    Then, aluminum foil over that ...
    Then, another towel or fender cover.

    The aluminum foil is a great barrier and if you do spill a little Brake Fluid on the covers ... the aluminum foil is there to keep the under towel dry!
