    Fuel Inject a 900.

Seems like the Drive Shaft can handle a bit of Torque.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the Latter-day Fuel-Injections that feature Throttle-Bodies which look like the Body's of the Carbs we all know and fight with ... would FIT our Bikes with a minimum of Fabrication and Machining.

I know when I look at the F/I Throttle Bodies on the new Triumph-850, ... it looks like the Bike is Normally Aspirated using CV-Carbs.

Just ran across the first and only 8 second Yamaha Turbo, now for sale - -

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-T ... 3cb2f2c94a

Looks like the FJ1200 can handle 250 real horsepower !!
    Food for thought !

In the last photograph of this bike; it looks like the Shift Lever is hooked-up to a Servo, ...

    What would that be for?

That's an air shifter - - you mash a button and a relay cuts the ignition while another kicks the shifter.

Just had a thought - if it was wired into the shift light on the tach, it would be an automatic ! You would just hang on !

You'd still have to clutch it to get it going or stopped.

Might not even need the shift light. An electronic tach input and a variable resistor should be able to get you shifts at any RPM you like. Use two and it'd down shift for you too.

Make your runners as long as you can reasonably. A 7-8 degree taper helps cylinder filling.
The end of the runners in the plenum should wrap around completely for best flow. Think a donut under a velocity stack. The radius of the flare should be the radius of the pipe.
Generally a plenum volume 1.5 times the volume of 1 cylinder works well.
Under boost the runner length is irrelevent however longer runners will improve throttle response below the torque peak.

You can call me @ Summit Racing Tech 330-630-0240 and ask for Tom.
    I'm off Wednesdays and weekends.

Performancetrends.com has a program called Engine Analyzer that can help with runner lengths. Last I looked you could download Engine Analyzer Pro for 30 days for free! ( that's a $450.00 program!)

A mustang 302 89-93 stock throttle body is 58mm IIRC.

I've used and are using the "micro-squirt" system which was designed for motorcycles. We currently are using it on a special project where we had to add more electronics and is a bit simpler to utilize. re: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=29144.html
    Good luck with it!

I'm also curious if this project was completed or if anyone else has successfully fuel injected an xj650 turbo.
