    My XJ1100 gets 38-40 , bone stock
    XS1100 gets 30-35 , K&N filter and 4 into 1 exhaust with re-jetted carbs
The wost of the bunch is my F350 truck, gets 9mpg unloaded and as bad as 4 fully loaded with the boat in tow.

My last tank on my '82 650 Maxim got 45 MPG. The highest I've gotten was 51 and the lowest so far has been 41.

My 1979 DT175 used to get over 85 MPG but you couldn't really take it out on the highway.

My 750 Virago only got about 35-40 MPG and it had much less power than a either a 550 or 650 Maxim.

Well I got 45 MPG out of my last tank, with a passenger for the last 50km. :)

I was definitely driving gently, so this is a "best case" scenario, but I'm happy anyway...

I think that applies to temperature only Time. IE 25Celcius = 80Farenheit (ish)!

Something is missing from this thread.
Who all has any type of fairing on their bikes?

My 82 750 YICS Maxim got 53 mpg on it's last tankful before i put on the Slipstreamer Spirit 02 windshield. (Fairly big shield)

Now i'm getting 45 to 47 mpg. I ride her about average. Sometimes putting along at the speed limit and sometimes using the fun handle.
If i hypermile, i can still push 50 mpg.

I suppose that's not bad for a 26 year old gal.

IMHO, this conversation is limited in value, if the fairing/no fairing question isn't answered.

I've never used the windshield for mine but I think i will for trips or colder weather, the problem with my 650 max isn't the milage it's the range I get from the sad little 13 liter (3.25ish gallon) tank not bad in the city but up north when it's 200+ km between stations??? the math just doesn't add up!

I thought I was accelerating pretty fast, cruising around about average of 55, but I was still getting an MPG of 50-52 on 100+ mile trips. No windscreen, and above 45 I lean down a bit.

I did have 1oz of acetone per tank of gas (5gal).

I have an 82 xj750RJ without fairing and I get 45 MPG on average or above, and I ride both hard and mild. I don't think I drive too mellow though, most of the time I'm driving sorta hard and still get 45+MPG.

Lucky. I'm currently getting 36-38 MPG on my 700. Wonder if thats normal for a 700 my age? I'm also 120LBS so You think i'd get more jsut for that! I ride pretty mild. Occasionally i'll go up to 6.5 RPMS but not daily. I try to stay below 5k RPMS.
Wonder if my new jets will help

I have a seca 900 and get 48 to 50 mpg no matter what riding conditions or maybe I just ride the same all the time. My Nighthawk 650 was 55 - 60 mpg. I can't imagine the mid 30's.

When I first got Arachne, the PO had her chugging out 32mpg...after a carb clean and other much needed maintenance (valve job coming up this season while i have the engine out) she ended the season doing 47. Ill be happy with 40 with what Im doing to her weight wise. Hard cases a trunk and fenders....

SLKid - I'm averaging right around 36 - 38 on my 700. This seems a bit low to me. I do tend to ride it more like a fighter pilot, but I rarely rev her over 7k unless I really need to.

I'm going to play with my colortune, as I believe I am losing a lot of gas when doing city driving and sitting at lights. My mixture may be a tad too rich.

    .62K/3.785L = M/g (edited)

So 20K/L would work out to
    20 * .62 *3.785 = appox 46.9 mpg

Seca 900 - 49 MPG on 4 tank back to back test (sport fairing)
Seca 750 - 32 MPG when I got her, just did 46 MPG last week (s/t fairing)
    V-Star 1100 - 50 MPG unless I'm really hammering it (small shield)
Honda Silver Wing 500 - 45 MPG (full dress)
Elite 250 scooter - 85 MPG (no shield) And I might weigh 300 LBs.
