Gas where is shouldn't be

I have been riding my 82 650 maxim all through August after I had my carbs retuned. I got it running better than before, really smooth.

I just over this last weekend took it on a longer ride, ended up putting what must be 6-800 miles on it. Typically just to work, 30 miles to and from. I half way in the trip I noticed my petcock was leaking, I figured that's why my mileage was looking like ~30 to the gallon.

Later half riding back I could feel the power bog down, only really on take off, it would hit a big power spike and go to speed. At the second to last stop, it just refuses to get any rpms.

I fixed the petcock and I'm not leaking anymore, but my air box is flooded with gas and I noticed a small drip from my 3rd header that smells of gas. It won't turn over immediately, slowly it will fire, but only after gaining rpms will it stay running.

Am I right to think my exhaust has an air leak causing a cylinder to flood back into the air box?

 

Check the oil level might have fuel in the oil. Check crankcase hose to airbox on gear shift cover.

 

I could be wrong, but this sounds like a stuck float valve to me.

 

Jet fell out. Put it back in. Trying to get the bike in a good spot again now since that must have changed enough.
