I had a thought the other day about using an MSD ignition box on an XJ and wondered if anyone here had done so. Not that I am in any big hurry to do so but it is an interesting concept. I know how my (now gone to a new home) 650 Seca perked up with a new fuse panel and how my (also long gone) Chevy S10 V6 perked up when I did put the MSD box on made me wonder. Do we run at a high enough RPM that it would make little to no difference anyway? Inquiring minds want to know. There are folks here who have hot rodded the heck out of all manner of XJ's so somebody might have. Thoughts everyone please.

Thank you for the link. Pretty interesting reading and sort of a "what is possible" rabbit hole. So far nobody has admitted to trying this though. I would have thought the fuel injection guys would have tried. What we have works well but "more is never enough".

I see no need for it. And MSD boxes are known for making a ton of noise, which ECUs don't like.
