Hi, my name is Don, I am from Anchorage, Alaska, and own a small custom bike shop. I do a lot of "bike saving"- i.e.- bringing yard finds back to life. I found this forum for that reason- I have a customer that brought in two 1980 XJs, a Maxim and a Seca, and wants me to bring them back to life. So I have a few questions, and need a couple parts. Almost have the Maxim back to snuff, it needed the least work, but had to rob a couple parts off the Seca. Going to try to talk the customer into bringing the Seca back to life too, take a little bit more money and time, but it is a savable bile, I think. Will try to take a couple pics in the next couple days. But, in the meantime, to show I am no mercenary bent on taking advantage of board members time and parts- a couple pics I have.

Here is a pic of my crowded and cluttered work space:

In the last pic, I "resurected" the VFR750F (hadn't run in 20 years) and the 89 GSXR 1100R is being resurected as we speak. I also brought back from the dead this year alone: 1982 KZ 750 "spectre", 1983 VF 500 (V30) magna, CB 650, GSX F 750 "Katana" and my old Z1.

Only the Kz750 cost the customer more than 1500 bucks, because it was a full frame off restore-show bike.

Here is the owner right after the bike show

I am also an avid rider, and have over 200k miles on my V65 Sabre, which I have owned since 1989, when it had 1800 miles on it!

Hi & welcome cruising from another newby in the U.K. That Kwacka looks good giving me some ideas for my rebuild on a 81 XJ650 4KO I have just got my hands on.you have my type of riding weather up there, but at my age I want a chair strapped to the side (the old bones don't mend so fast now days)here is some pics of a trip we did to Tromso but that was only 300 miles inside the arctic circle, the only problems we encountered was getting the tent pegs into the permafrost.
