I have a 1986 Yamaha Maxim X700. Today while starting it I noticed the throttle cable was melting to the metal coil cover on the brake line. I read somewhere it could be a ground. Has anyone else had this issue?
Any trouble shooting tips would be great, I'm not that good with electrical.

You do indeed have a bad gorund somewhere and the bike is substituting the throttle cable.
Start at the battery and follow the black cable. Remove and clean every ground point. There should be one to the engine case, and one to the frame from the engine.

I checked out the ground connections. They look clean, not sure if I found the actual case to frame ground. Getting about .3 volts on the brake line still. Battery is only giving about 12 volts. Any other common places to look?
