Managed close to 200 on Sunday... That was on purdy new Swedish roads.
Noticed that the speedo needle jumped back and forth between 160 and 200 at excess speeds. My phone was dead, so I couldn't measure with GPS...

On my Turbo, from Lake Tahoe, Ca. to Kannapolis, NC in 5 days without riding at night and starting each day at 7:00am. About 2700 miles. My motorcycle and I were always at a "comfortable" speed. :D

I can't remember the fastest I've been over a stretch of road, so I dug out my MaximX folder and found an old time slip from the drag strip. This was done pre Hindle header and carb work, so basically bone stock. Also note the really P*ss poor reaction time, no matter what I tried I could not keep the front end down, and seeing as I was doing this for S**ts and giggles I wasn't going to feather the clutch through first gear.
    Also, notice the date!

I have my doubts to the accuracy of the aftermarket speedo on my xj but I got it to 115mph late one night with my gf on the back. I regularly take it to 85 and beyond, seems like she's always pullin' hard for more.

I've only had this XJ for maybe a month and clocked somewhere
around 200 miles on it. I pushed it to 85mph indicated and that
was about all I cared to see out of 'er. I'm just not overly trusting
of anything I don't have a lot of time on and with. Maybe after 2k
miles I might roll my wrist for a mile or two stretch..?

Sheez man, You bros be careful out there huh... It ain't so much
you as it is the other rummys bouncin' around.

Be safe man, BE SAFE... I still got more questions to ask of ya'll.;)

A best MPH of 107 and a best time of 12.8
It went faster as the evening progressed, until I got the idea of removing the filter for "more power"
It fell on it's face and went 15.5 or so. Too much air.

145KPh on the Expressway (~85MPH)... Funny when you get up that fast the revs didn't climb as fast as I figured...

Best watch out or you'll get nailed with that stupid "STUNTING" law! The most stupid law on the books as far as I'm concerned. Speeding is speeding and stunting is stunting, sorry, had to vent a little there.
    Please continue the discussion. 8)

Better than over here where if you are 40KM/H over the limit you are considered street racing... even if there is no one else on the road...

instant license prohabition, 30 day impound, $500 fine... After the tow, license fee, and vehicle storage fees I have been told you are at around $3000...

some places, 110KM/H is 40 over the limit on the Canada 1 Highway

And my top was around 200KM/H on the Sea to Sky highway...

    Cheers
    Dave

my custom 750 seca is all stock powertrain. Have had her to 125 according to aftermarket speedo. She's got a ton more to go but i need some tires and to replace a slightly bent rotor, starts to pick up a scary shimmy

I don't know.... maybe some of you are just young or something but I got to ask..... WHY? This is something I would have done in my teens because my medulla oblongata hadn't fully developed yet. If you did this on a street it probably isn't the greatest of ideas. If you want to see what your bike can do at least take it to a track to open her up. I know my bike could get up there but I guess I don't find it worth the risk anymore. Don't mean to sound like an Old Biker Dude but I am.

Well, finally took her out on the expressway. Needle was bouncing between 60 and buried (85MPH speedo), but I was still getting passed so I'm guessing about 70MPH. Gotta save up for those 700 gauges I want.

All I'm gonna say is that I went fast enough!!
To say otherwise is to invite a visit from someone that I don't wish to speak with!!!
    GET IT?
