I'm still going say Motus. They are (I think) the Vincent Rapide of our time.

I'd grab the Yamaha Raider, first. Second would be the Yamaha Stryker

I'm falling for the Yamaha XSR900 (European model). Like the Bolt grew up and decided not to try to be a Sportster anymore.

So many bikes, need more personal riding style to help with this one.

All around riding would be a dual sport probable a DL650, lite enough to throw around when the pavement ends. Once you have a dual sport and start to test the trails it is hard to go back to a only street bike. For the hooligan in me, ZRX1200R, great bike! A close second would be a B1200 they both have more of a sit up riding style with the inline four power. For a all day rider with plenty of wind protection and enough power to get around the slow traffic, Honda Black Bird. or ZZR.

These bikes should not break the bank :)

I wish I could go back and edit my last post. It was supposed to say XSR700, not 900. I guess the correction limit has passed. Gee, ain't it funny how time slips away.

No doubt about it for me - the new T120 Bonne, in black, black, black.

Unfortunately, a kick starter is not an available accessory, nor are the young hard bodies shown in the marketing pictures. But, that thumping twin cylinder mama sure does sound good with the 270 degree cadence.....

    Ah. Back in the day.

I'm seriously considering a Indian Scout Bobber. Or at least a Indian Scout. $9k-$12k is reasonably price for such a iconic bike and brand.

I'd buy the Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe and restore the XJ.

I would love to have this for touring, but with the current price tag north of 20k it's out of the question. For now anyway.

I've tentatively promised myself a new motorcycle as a rewuard for completing a masters-degree program next year. When I graduated high-school I swore to never set foot into a classroom again (those who know my career path can LOL now), so this is a huge accomplishemnt for me.

As much as I want to get a Motus, a new one costs $18k more than I'm comfortable financing.
At this point it's going to be a battle between the Yamaha Super Tenere, the Yamaha Tracer 900, and the Honda CB1100 EX.

I might just get the Honda and write a letter to Yamaha letting them know that the purchase is in protest of them failing to bring the XJ1300 to the U.S..

Ooooh... I can't decide. Does it HAVE to be a new bike?

I've wanted an early 70s Guzzi El Dorado for a while. Maybe even an Ambassador.
I've been tempted to get a Royal Enfield Classic thumper, but it's liable to rattle all the teeth outta my head!

The Z900RS is nice to look at! That's my vote today. Tomorrow it'll be different.

Middle weight parallel twins from Japan seem to be my thing nowadays.
Honda NC 700 for day to day
    Kawi Vulcan 650r for cruising
Yamaha MT07 or XSR7 for tearing it up.
If I had to choose just one?
Probably the Honda. My imaginary 86xj can replace the other 2.

It's unfortunate that Honda won't let RE call it an Interceptor.

[Edit] I double-checked and it seems that either Honda are being generous, or RE has good lawyers.

I road a RE Bullet 500 much of last season as my commuter. One of the simple and pure motorcycles out there. A blast to ride and always drew interest. Highway was tough on those rare days without congestion, so I'm excited hear how the new line does.

They're tough as anything. Mine was run over by a school bus, with the bus's rear wheels on top of the wheel and fork. Insurance totaled it out. The dealer told me it was less than $1000 in parts, but no one wants a salvage title on a new bike.

Ok I admit I’m becoming obsessed! The Ducati Diavel has caught my eye and blasted down the road with it. I’m not going to say it’s beautiful, but it’s degjnitely handsome. Power galore, handles well even with the huge rear tire and sounds amazing. One of my MST instructors has the X Diavel and the local HD dealer has a Diavel Carbon with 8400 kms on it for 18,500 cdn. A hell of a bike!

I'm not sure what is in Yamaha's current Canadian offerings but I can assure you the FJR1300 was available for many years and quite popular in Canada.

Could it be the XJR1300 you are referring to?

Thought so, I agree the XJR1300 is a beaut and should have been imported here. Best alternative is the ZRX1200, also very cool.

Went for a ride at lunch to grab some gas and some scotch. As I went past the A&W I spotted about 12 older bikes. I went around the block and pulled in and discovered the Vintage MC Club. Those guys were like flys when they spotted the Seca. Had a blast chatting with them.
