I am in need of a full set of 8 exhaust header bolts. Anyon have a set or at least half a set or know of a place to get them for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

They're not bolts, or not supposed to be.

They're studs and they take a special goofy flare-bottomed hollow-tipped nut.

Our resident parts source, XJ4Ever, has everything you'll need, at reasonable prices. Click on the logo/link in the site banner, upper right, or PM member 'chacal.'

Hm I thought they were just bolts with Alan wrench heads... I'll give chacal a holler and see if he has them. Thanks

Think about it: Exhaust header removal isn't necessarily a "never" thing. The head is made of soft buttery aluminum. You want fixed anchors, which the nuts then use to pull the exhaust system against the head. The thread-on-thread tightening stress therefore is steel on steel, rather than having steel bolts clawing their way into the aluminum head every time you tighten up the exhaust system. (Cars don't generally use bolts in this application either.)

Be sure to use new gaskets; both styles (OE and aftermarket) are pictured in this article: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=29356.html
