So I'm very new to the XJ world and motorcycle rebuilding/restoring. I'm doing the carb. Cleaning on my 1983 Yamaha xj750 maxim and i looked into the repair manual and according to it I'm suppose to have some sort of air jet cover plate inside the carb. but when I opened my carb. it had none. Am I suppose to have those? Or am I just not looking at the right manual? Any help will be much appreciated thanks

I have all those components in good shape. But I did not encounter some pilot jet cover plate. According to the repair manual I found online it shows it has them but I didn't see any in my carburetor. This is the manual pic ...

there was a little plate in the early versions that held in place or covered the pilot air jet and air jet it was discontinued , so it is not a problem.

Um...... We can't help you with that

    Hoses--

big hose is fuel line from petcock to fuel rail "T".
Small hose is vacuum line from petcock to vacuum port on manifold boot.

You shouldnt have any other hoses.
